Commentary to the song “The Event”.

This song calls to mind the words of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him: “...Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

Here also comes to mind Gabdulla Tukay’s poem “Repentance”.

The song was written by Vladimir Vysotsky after his meeting with a famous rocket scientist in 1971.
