This song calls to mind Publilius Syrus’ words: “Amicus perdere est damnorum maximum.” (“The loss of a friend is the greatest of losses.”)

V a l e r y A b r a m o v was a friend of Vladimir Vysotsky, a brother of his second wife Lyudmila Abramova.

The song was written for the film “Quarantine” (1968).
