Commentary to the song “The Gutsy Fellow”.

The hero of this song symbolizes the United States, and the fact (in literal translation) that his soul is full and his pocket empty means that he has good in­ten­tions, but has no good idea — the American dream is an illusion.

The song was written for the film “Armed and Very Dangerous” (1977).
