Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. The Demon Drink.
Commentary to “A Song-Tale about the Djinni”.
The fifth stanza of this song is a poetic reflection of the fifth verse of the eleventh chapter of the Book of Revelation: “And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies; and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed.”
The song was written in 1967.
