Commentary to the song “THE ESCAPE”.

The second song, also written in 1977, is “The Escape”. This song is dedicated to V a d i m T u m a n o v, who was a friend of Vladimir Vysotsky. He is the pro­to­type of the main character of Vladimir Vysotsky and Leonid Monchinsky’s novel “The Black Candle” (this novel is in Russian) and the author of the novel “But the Huntsmen Remained with Nothing”, this title is the words from the song “Hunting for Wolves”, which are translated in this publication as “I wasn’t brought by the beaters to bay”.
