Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. Dear Fellows Scientists.
Commentary to the song “Dear fellows scientists!..”
It is pertinent to recall here Stanislav Markevich’s song “My Darling” (the presented text is Anonymous’ modified version).
And how little variety of good for eating foodstuffs has remained on hand! But had the scientists listened to the poet’s words... But it was said by Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, that every plant which our heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up.
As the epigraph to this song, there can be used the words of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, from his address “I bow low and exhort you, people...” (this address is in Russian): “...till now it is not visible, that the scientists have made something useful for the true life.”
The song was written in 1972.
