I want to believe will come to be a time |
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
“I’ve gotten what to sing before the Merciful, what will justify me before Him,” wrote Vladimir Vysotsky in his last poem “There is ice above me and below...”[1], foreseeing his imminent death and footing his creative work up—and that was a great work.
The poet, actor, singer, musician and writer Vladimir Vysotsky was born and lived in Russia in the period of communist dictatorship, and his poetic word was a light of men in this long-suffering country. Only a few of his songs were recognized officially when he was alive, but due to home-made tape recordings and publications the Russian people knew them all. In the darkness of building the society of total happiness, Vladimir Vysotsky showed life as it really was, and his a bit hoarse sincere voice captivated the people’s hearts, and gave the enslaved nation the strength to live, work and fight. There was no such poet before him—his poems and songs expressed the hope and gladness, pain and grief of all living people, and his voice touched anyone who heard it. He was loved by millions of people of various nationalities, and now, as in bygone days, his poetry helps us to live. Verily, this man was “such as fought and sailed and ruled and loved and made our world”, as wrote Rudyard Kipling in his “Dedication from ‘Barrack-Room Ballads’”. I think that Rudyard Kipling’s brother he wrote of in this poem was Vladimir Vysotsky—a fearless knight of the Truth.
Vladimir Vysotsky left a great poetic heritage—more than seven hundred beautiful poems and songs, which show life in all its completeness, and embrace all the history of our world—from the day of its creation[2] until the very end[3]. As writer he is a co-author of the famous work “The Black Candle”[4], and the author of some good writings. I judge the works of Vladimir Vysotsky to be the most eloquent defense of human values, and compare his poetry to the greatest poems.
Many of his poems and songs are prophetic, and I consider him to be a continuer of the poetic prophecies of Rudyard Kipling and Alexander Pushkin. Of course, the prophecies of Vladimir Vysotsky require interpretation, and not all of them can be solved until they are fulfilled. But some of his prophecies are clear to understand; and there are such poems and songs that were written about the past, but they also relate to the future.
I should like to emphasize some of the poems and songs that are clear to understand. These are “A Ballad about Time”[5], “A Ballad about Love”[6], “A Ballad about Hatred”[7], “A Ballad about the Struggle”[8], “A Song about the New Time”[9], “It’s Not Evening Yet”[10], “The Alarm Bell”[11], “Hunting for Wolves”[12], “The Wooden Suits”[13], “Man Overboard”[14], “Hymn to the Sea and the Mountains”[15], “This day we waited for years...”[16], “In the beginning there was the Word...”[17], “The Glorious Regiment”[18], “About the Signs of the Zodiac”[19], “A Lullaby”[20], “Good day to you, our kind viewers...”[21], “Here is what: life is beautiful, comrades...”[22], “I’ll tell you what will happen...”[23], “The ships don’t come to the port...”[24], “We think that we live...”[25], “If somewhere in the troubled night...”[26], “Make ye at least a gangway...”[27], “The Nature Reserve”[28], “The candles are melting...”[29], “There’s no more the Curved Seashore”[30], “The bridges have burnt down...”[31], “Life was screwed with a rusty nut...”[32], “I Don’t Love”[33], “The Other’s Rut”[34], “At the Masquerade”[35], “The Sail”[36], “The Darkness”[37], “Songs of the Evil Forces”[38], “My testes and demands are strange...”[39], “A Parable about Truth and Lie”[40], “The Case History”[41], “The Card-Sharpers”[42], “A Song about the Wise Oleg”[43], “A Song about the Notes”[44], “A Song-Tale about the Wild Boar”[45] and “Everything Is Relative”[46].
And here is how Vladimir Vysotsky stated his position in the autobiographic poem “My Black One”[47]:

The poet clearly wrote about his prophetic mission in the autobiographic songs “I Went Out of Business”[48], “The Monument”[49] and “Thank Thee, O God, for Thy grace...”[50], and poems “I stubbornly aspire to the bottom...”[51], “I know not whether the crowd of my friends...”[52] and “I am calm—He revealed to me everything...”[53] And I think that his autobiographic song “A Day”[54] can also be added to this list.

wrote Vladimir Vysotsky in “I stubbornly aspire to the bottom...”[51]; and he ended “I know not whether the crowd of my friends...”[52] with words, “Be ye afraid of God!—not of me.”
Also it is known his words that a song is not full-blown if there is no double bottom in; and he wrote in the mentioned “We think that we live...”[25],

I consider the poetry of Vladimir Vysotsky to be a single whole with the teaching of Porphyry Ivanov[55], peace be upon him. To all appearances, the poet did not know about his coming, but there is no doubt that in “He arrived from beyond remote hills...”[56] and “The Single Hander”[57] Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about the God of the Earth, also there are lines related to him in “Who For What Runs”[58] and “Tumen Oil”[59].
I shall return to “Who For What Runs”[58] when I speak about songs where the poet wrote about the victory of Islam; and here is the living image of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, drawn by Vladimir Vysotsky in “Tumen Oil”[59]:

The fountain gushed and scattered sparks, |
Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, wore only shorts (which covered his body from his navel to the lower parts of his knees as it is ordered in Islam), and he used to pour upon himself two buckets of cold water four times a day.
If the poet really did not know about the greatest event occurred since the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, came, then what he wrote about the God of the Earth may be accepted as one of his fulfilled prophecies. Another such one is his prediction about events in China, what was narrated by his wife Marina Vlady in her memoirs “Vladimir, or the Interrupted Flight”; and there are fulfilled prophecies which relate to men who are alive now.
Thus, it is not difficult to guess who might perform on his behalf “The Song of Goger-Magoger”[60]. But this song bears a relation not only to Mikhail Gorbachev, but also to Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin; and Vladimir Vysotsky almost literally predicted a well known phrase of the last of them about the right place to kill Chechens who took vengeance for bombardments of their fatherland, saying,

The poet warned the world about a destroyer to come, and this warning also related to George Bush and the continuer of his business Barack Obama. But it was written by Vladimir Vysotsky in “Life Was Rushing”[61],

“When it almost came to the mob low, |
where the hillmen mean not only Chechens, but all the Muslims, and it was promised by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, saying, “Allah will bring out from concealment al-Mahdi from my family and just before the day of Judgment; even if only one day were to remain in the life of the world, and he will spread on this earth justice and equity and will eradicate tyranny and oppression.”[62]
Vladimir Vysotsky also wrote about Boris Yeltsin in the poems “In one power with a population...”[63], where he named this politician a drunkard and a boor, and “There was a sovereign...”[64]. Here is the last of these poems:

Indeed, a reasonable person would not perform those actions that brought “honor” to the first Russian President.
In “Whereas the hair in her braid is in a mess...”[65], the poet wrote about the Ukrainian “politician” Yulia Timoshenko,

It is incomprehensible for what this “statesman” left her kitchen; and there are songs where Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about feminism. One of them is “A Family in the Stone Age”[66], and here is a stanza of it:

What I want is five women to get, |
It may be drawn a parallel between Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, who walked barefoot and almost naked across Russia and Ukraine during fifty years, and the prophet Isaiah, peace be upon him, who walked barefoot and naked for a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and Ethiopia during three years[67]. And Vladimir Vysotsky wrote in “There’s no more beautiful country...”[68],

I do believe that Russia will ever exist—unlike the United States and, of course, the so-called “state of Israel”. I also think—and Allah, glory be to Him, knows better—that a rebellious people, that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts, mentioned through the prophet Isaiah[69], peace be upon him, is the unbelievers among the Russians and Ukrainians; and that the great harlot that sits upon many waters and seven mountains and who is the great city, whose downfall is described in the eighteenth chapter of the Book of Revelation, is the capital of Russia.
The waters, where the harlot sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues—it is really its description, and on the other hand, there is a great underground sea under Moscow. This town is situated on seven hills; and there is no doubt that it is the mother of the harlots, and of the abominations of the earth because it was the capital of the first state where was made an attempt to destroy religion. The seven kings, in my opinion, are Vladimir Ulyanov (also known as Lenin) and the General Secretaries of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union: Joseph Jughashvili (also known as Stalin), Nikita Khrushchev, Leonid Brezhnev, Yury Andropov, Konstantin Chernenko and Mikhail Gorbachev, who continued a little while; and the beast that was, and is not, who is also an eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition, is the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin. I also think that the ten horns, which shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire, are the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States: nine countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) that ratified the charter of this organization (except Russia) and Turkmenistan, which is an unofficial associate member. And it was said that the horns will act together with the beast[70], what allows to make a conclusion that the Russian people shall also hate the harlot.
In the mentioned “There’s no more the Curved Seashore”[30], the thirty-three strong men mean the formerly republics of Russia, their former sea uncle (who criticizes everything what is Russian) is a generalized image of new Russian leaders, Flibbertigibbet is Mikhail Gorbachev, and burnt by him house is the Soviet Union.
In several of his songs—these are “A Song about the Lost Friend”[71], “The sea is stormy all the evening...”[72], “A Pirate Song”[73], “The Meter’s Ticking”[74], “We’ll save the guy...”[75], and also the mentioned “In the beginning there was the Word...”[17], “The Glorious Regiment”[18] and “Good day to you, our kind viewers...”[21]—and the poem “I stubbornly aspire to the bottom...”[51], Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about the Day of Requital.
Among those songs stand out “A Pirate Song”[73] and “The Glorious Regiment”[18], which reflect the events to come described in the Book of Revelation and hadiths. I shall return to “The Glorious Regiment”[18] when I speak about poems and songs where the poet wrote about the Mahdi; and here is the refrain of “A Pirate Song”[73]:

The wind is caught with all our sails, |
In this song, the captain symbolizes the Almighty Allah, glory be to Him, and he threw overboard yesterday’s spoils, what corresponds to words of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, saying, “Every plant which my heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up.”[76] And the pirates symbolize mankind, what corresponds to the words of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, that we have chosen a wrong path of life.
This thought runs through many poems and songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. “All isn’t so as it should be, friends,” wrote he in “My Gypsy Song”[77]. And how deep bitterness rang in his voice when he performed this song and other sad ones—“Black Eyes“[78], “The Execution of the Mountain Echo”[79], the mentioned “There’s no more the Curved Seashore“[30]...
Here is what he wrote with the blood of his heart in “We live in the dead emptiness, my dears...”[80]:

I think it is impossible to say better about the today’s crisis of materialism. Another picture of the crisis was drawn by the poet in “Today without smile...”[81].
In “Spring waters went away...”[82], where spring waters mean waters of the Deluge, Vladimir Vysotsky wrote,

“Spring waters went away, “A fright sits on a fright |
“I fight for you, friends,” wrote the poet in the autobiographic song “It’s my fate—to argue myself hoarse...”[83], and the same words were said by Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him. In the country the communists wanted to turn away from the Face of Allah, glory be to Him, these knights of the Truth told people that there is a way to unearthly wonders, and they are waiting for us, as it was worded by Vladimir Vysotsky in the mentioned “This day we waited for years...”[16]

wrote the poet in “The Mist”[85]. The two attempts mean Judaism and Christianity, and the third one is Islam—the way of God, and in these words it was spoken about by Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, through whom the best religion was again offered to all the nations[86], as it was promised by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, saying, “The religion began strange, and it will become strange again just like it was at the beginning, so blessed are the strangers who restore what the people corrupt of my Sunnah.”[87]
In the autobiographic poem “The Sea-Gull”[88], Vladimir Vysotsky wrote,
| “I’ll dissolve in the self, | ||
|
I understand these words as a poetic reflection of what will take place on the Day of Requital, and refer them to the words of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, “man will be one of easy temper”, what he called Evolution.
In “When the professional gamblers play...”[89], the poet wrote that Evolution will commence in the twenty-first century. Here is this poem:

There is a thought—and Allah, glory be to Him, knows better—that this poem reflects a great event described in the eleventh chapter of the Book of Revelation, which says that two witnesses, who will be killed and then stand upon their feet after three days and a half, will go up into heaven in the cloud; and that these witnesses are those Vladimir Vysotsky wrote of in the mentioned “A Pirate Song”[73],

The poet wrote a number of songs where the characters are two friends. Among them stand out “He Who Was with Her Before”[90] and “A Song of the Pilot” (the first of the “Two Songs about the Air Combat”[91]), where two friends fight against eight enemies. The last of these songs narrates about two pilots, who were lost in the air fight, knowing that they would be avenged and that they would get to paradise, and having a thought to ask of God to make them warrior angels or at least guardian ones in order “to bring on the wing luck” to such pilots as they were.
One may say that words of Vladimir Vysotsky are mere words, but it is impossible to doubt of words of the God of the Earth, who was spoken through the prophet Isaiah[92] and the apostle John[93], peace be upon them. “A man like me has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor shall ever be,” wrote he in his “The Victory of Mine”. Fifty years Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, walked across Russia and Ukraine helping people to regain their health, dressed in knee shorts only all the year round. He cured thousands of people of such diseases as tuberculosis, silicosis, ulcer. He stopped a three-day torrential downpour, caused rain during a drought, stopped a two-day storm[94]. He could abstain from food and water for more than a hundred days, be under water for more than three hours, be outdoors for more than a week in the hard Russian winter. He accompanied, in spirit, Yury Gagarin during his space flights, saved Edgar Mitchell and Alan Shepard on the Moon[95]. He passed through tortures in Gestapo, Soviet prisons and special mental hospitals... No one can do these signs, except Allah, glory be to Him, be with him; and words of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, confirm words of Vladimir Vysotsky.
There are two songs—the mentioned “I’ll tell you what will happen...”[23] and “The ships don’t come to the port...”[24], where the poet wrote about cataclysms to come—hurricanes, a global glaciation and a global failure of power. These songs, in my opinion, bear relation to the warning of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, that it will be too late to learn to live in harmony with Nature when falls from the height a small thing. The God of the Earth also said that California is preparing for death, and I do understand that California means our present technical civilization.
In the mentioned “A Song about the Wise Oleg”[43], the character “took his death from his horse”. Let us be realists and think what will happen to our civilization that depends upon electricity if there happens a solar storm like one that befell a hundred and fifty years ago—we are not guaranteed of a recurrence of such a storm.
Vladimir Vysotsky also alerted us to the danger of China’s economic boom in the song of his “Chinese” cycle “There are many nations on Earth...”[96], and here are his words:

In the criminal song “I’m in the game and with a knife...”[97], the poet wrote about the Law that was given to us in the Holy Qur’an,

“The law applies to all of us, |
And he clearly wrote about the victory of Islam in “Tin Soldiers”[98], where the blue soldiers symbolize the servants of the Devil, “The Eminence”[99], and in the mentioned “It’s Not Evening Yet”[10], where the pirates symbolize the Muslims, “Who For What Runs”[58] and “A Pirate Song”[73].
“The Eminence”[99] narrates about a battle for the hill, where our ways and destinies have crossed, which we conquered and lost seven times, and which we shall conquer for ever in the eighth time. And there are six main messengers to mankind highlighted in the Holy Qur’an—the prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon them all. I do understand—and Allah, glory be to Him, knows better—that these six messengers and the Mahdi, who will fill the earth with fairness and justice, are the seven Spirits of God mentioned in the Book of Revelation[100]. The eighth main messenger is the God of the Earth, whose appearance is similar to the appearance of One Who is like to a son of man in the allegorical picture drawn in that book[101].
In “Who For What Runs”[58], where the four runners—the first that hopes for reward and has no high thoughts, the second that is fed up and hopes for glory, the third that is old and wise, and the fourth that runs calmly—symbolize the four major religions of the world—Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism and Islam respectively, Vladimir Vysotsky wrote,

The fourth runner threw off his jersey at the finish, and that relates to Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him. The poet ended this song with words,
|
“The shoulder-blades separate from the shoulders, |
In my understanding—and Allah, glory be to Him, knows better, the four living creatures mentioned in the Book of Revelation—the first that is like a lion, the second that like a calf, the third that has a face as of a man, and the fourth that is like a flying eagle[102]—symbolize Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam respectively.
Vladimir Vysotsky wrote many poems and songs about war, and there are among them the mentioned “A Farewell”[103], “A Ballad about Hatred”[7], “A Ballad about the Struggle”[8], “A Song about the New Time”[9], “It’s Not Evening Yet”[10], “The Alarm Bell”[11], “The Wooden Suits”[13], “The Glorious Regiment”[18], “A Song about the Lost Friend”[71], “Two Songs about the Air Combat”[91] and “The Eminence”[99]. I refer these poems and songs to the war against the believers, which began with the acceptance by the British government the so-called “Balfour declaration” and the establishment of the Soviet Union, and has been continuing in Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq...
It is clear that in “A Ballad about Hatred”[7] and “The Alarm Bell”[11], the enemies are the American and “Israeli” “democrats” and their allies. It is those who were named by Vladimir Vysotsky robust slobs in the mentioned song “There’s no more the Curved Seashore”[30], and outsiders from the other world in the poem “An outsider will set foot into my soul...”[104]. And here is that poem:

In “But allow me to report...”[105], the poet wrote about the inglorious end of Russia and America’s “missions” in Afghanistan,

“But allow me to report, Mr. General: Our supplier is a son of a dog, Mr. General. “Our enemy is strong, Mr. General, And our barracks are far off, Mr. General. “Our soldiers are faint-hearted, they won’t go in to the attack. So that we can’t keep on our fighting, we can only go back.” |
And there is the poem “Our keel glides along the Don and the Spree river...”[106], where Vladimir Vysotsky named the so-called “state of Israel” a tiny corner, swollen up to the greatness Israel and gentile Israel. But the Jews have no right to establish a state of their own[107], and it was spoken through the prophet Isaiah[108], the prophet Micah[109] and other prophets of the Holy Bible, peace be upon them all, that this “state” will be destroyed. And the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said that the Muslims will be victorious over the Jews.
In the beginning of this year[110], in a Muslim family in Dagestan was born a boy, on whose body twice a week appear inscriptions in Arabic: separate words, ayat of the Holy Qur’an and hadiths. The inscriptions are kept for three days, then they gradually disappear and in their places appear new ones. The first word appeared shortly after his birth, and it was the word “Allah”. The parents of the boy did not dare to talk about this phenomenon until on his body appeared the inscription “Show My signs to people”. During the month of Ramadan, the boy refused to eat until sunset[111].
Glorious is Allah! He showed us so many miracles[112], and now has granted us such a wonderful one... But how many miracles are necessary that to unite the people of good against evil? Let us read “Radio Islam” and “Welcome to the Goldstone Report”, and watch produced by “The Never-Before-Campaign for Palestine” videos in order to understand that the American and “Israeli” “democrats” and their allies are the enemies of all the believers. Let us read “The Palestinian Information Center”, “Ezzedeen AL-Qassam Brigades—Information Office” and “Islamic Resistance in Lebanon—Official Web Site” in order to understand that buying American or “Israeli” goods, we become the accomplices in killing our brothers and sisters. Let us read the hadiths and the Book of Revelation in order to understand that we live in the last days, and every one has to make his choice[113].
The United States and “Israel”, these two criminal entities established on the occupied lands, were painted by Vladimir Vysotsky in the mentioned “The Card-Sharpers”[42] and “A Pirate Song”[73], where they are those two persons that wanted to overthrow the captain (who symbolizes the Almighty Allah, glory be to Him), and in “The Two Brothers”[114].
Here are the prophetic words of Vladimir Vysotsky about our “guests” in the East from “The Card-Sharpers”[42]:
Let the evening is moonless and rainy
We’ll settle up accounts with this lady! |
On the other hand, the guests symbolize Zionists, and the words of the refrain of this song “there’re four suits in pack of cards” mean that there are four major religions in the world.
Here is what the poet wrote in “A Pirate Song”[73]:

Two persons cry, “It is a time to take the captain!” |
And here is the first stanza of “The Two Brothers”[114], where the village of Big Forks symbolizes our Earth, and the barn symbolizes the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (the Chernobyl disaster, which happened when the third angel sounded[115], took place over six years after the death of Vladimir Vysotsky):

This song has a happy ending: the brothers felt ashamed of their behavior and stopped terrorizing people when a wanderer said to them, “Brothers, ye ought to be ashamed!”
Those “democrats”—American, “Israeli” and others of that ilk—take an interest in no one’s opinion; but the permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, and Allah will certainly aid those who aid His cause—for verily Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might, Able to enforce His Will—this is what the Holy Qur’an says[116]. One day we shall eradicate “democracy”, but we shall not wipe away the tears of children who were killed in its name... And how right Vladimir Vysotsky was, when he wrote in the mentioned “The Case History”[41],

“The living creatures in this world |
I have a feeling—and Allah, glory be to Him, knows better—that the inscriptions on the body of the boy is a sign that the awaited Mahdi has already been born somewhere among us, that such a great miracle announces a new page in the history of mankind. There are two signs that confirm this feeling: one of them is that the name of the boy is Ali, and the Mahdi—it is known from hadiths—will be a descendant of the designated successor[117], cousin and son-in-law of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Ali, and the daughter of the Holy Prophet Fatima, peace be upon them all; and the other is that on one Friday on the body of the boy appeared the words “Blessed Servant”, and the Mahdi—it is also known from hadiths—will come on a Friday. Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, who appealed to make ready the way of a messenger to come during many years, wrote in his diaries that he will arrive in the near future[118].
And I regard the days on which the inscriptions appear—Mondays and Thursdays or Fridays or, sometimes, Wednesdays—as a sign that from now on it would be very good for us to fast on Monday, and for those who are able on Thursday too. These days, Monday and Thursday, are among those certain days on which the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, exhorted us to fast; and Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, suggested to fast at least one day a week[119].
I see a number of poems and songs where Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about the Mahdi—these are “The Paradise Apples”[120], “I feel neither angry nor blue...”[121], “There was once a man of the world...”[122], the mentioned “This day we waited for years...”[16], “A Song about the Notes”[44] and “A Song-Tale about the Wild Boar”[45], and some others.
Indeed, how exactly “The Paradise Apples”[120] reflects sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. According to hadiths, the Mahdi will be moved away from people twice, and the character of this song died a violent death and rose from the dead two times. But no one source reports that Vladimir Vysotsky knew the hadiths.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said that the Mahdi will not be able to lead a quiet life as ordinary people do. And I refer to the Mahdi such songs as the mentioned “We’ll save the guy...”[75], where the character grew up without parents and always knew that “all is nothing save only Doomsday”, “Throw out your humdrum of every-day life...”[123], where the character had “to know the price for peace” when he grew up, “I betrayed no one in this world...”[124], where the character was knifed by mistake when he was but nineteen years old, or “Don’t ye pick on my young age...”[125], where the character says,

Here is the poem “There was once a man of the world...”[122], where the description of the character perfectly corresponds with the description of the Mahdi given in hadiths, and where the fact that he had gotten four wives (a harem in the original text) means that he was a Muslim:

Vladimir Vysotsky also wrote about the Mahdi in the mentioned “The Glorious Regiment”[18], where the last stanza narrates not about the defeat of the glorious regiment, which symbolizes the Muslim Ummah, but about the last days—as they are described in hadiths. In this song, the regiment commander symbolizes the Mahdi, and the trumpeter who fell silent is the poet himself.
Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, wrote in his diaries that the awaited messenger will undergo ordeals in prisons and hospitals; and Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about these institutions in many of his poems and songs, in the stories “The Dolphins and the Madmen”[126] and “Again about the Dolphins”[127], and in the mentioned work “The Black Candle”[4].
But how greatly the poet longed for the Kingdom of Justice... One of the poems where his longing was manifested so clearly is “I want to cry as in days bygone...”[128], and here is it:

There was a time when Vladimir Vysotsky used to say that he did not sing lyric songs. But he wrote and sang such beautiful lyric songs as “The Song of Maria”[130], “We Are Waiting for You”[131], “The White Waltz”[132], “A Lyric Song”[133], “The Crystal House”[134], “The Ships Love”[135], “The Far East”[136], “More really than a dream and a delirium...”[137], “The Serenade of Nightingale the Robber”[138] (it is a humorous song), or the mentioned “A Ballad about Love”[6] and “A Lullaby”[20]. One of these songs, “More really than a dream and a delirium...”[137], the poet never performed on stage, maybe he reckoned it too lyric.
Due to the orthographic reform made by the Soviet Government, the Russian language has changed into a corrupt one, which worsens with time, and the revolutionary poetry of Vladimir Vysotsky threw light upon this danger for Russia. Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, also warned about: he spoke the traditional Russian well, but his diaries were somewhere written in a corrupt language[139]. And because of it is not easy to perceive Russian text written in the modern “orthography”, I present the original texts of poems and songs of Vladimir Vysotsky (as well as the original texts of songs of other authors performed by him) in the traditional Russian[140].
To wrote in the damaged orthography is not easy too, and even such a great poet as Vladimir Vysotsky was mistaken sometimes, what happened in such songs as the mentioned “The Case History”[41], “Life Was Rushing”[61] and “My Gypsy Song”[77], and also in “Hunting for Wild Boars”[141], “I came home after work...”[142], “The Leningrad Blockade”[143], “At a river or a lake...”[144] and several other songs. In the presented source texts, some mistakes are corrected, and, moreover, I present my versions of a number of poems and songs in Russian—in fulfilment of the poet’s words “if someone meddled to me, he was but a Tatar”, which he wrote in the anti-Zionist song “Mishka Shifman”[145].
Vladimir Vysotsky is the only born after the revolution Russian poet who used the Old Russian pen and rhymes. “He was a servant of the pure style”, as he wrote about himself in the autobiographic song “The Interrupted Flight”[146]. He deeply loved his country and language, and like to the Lights of Truth of the Russian literature Avvakum Petrov and Alexander Pushkin, showed the world the beauty and the greatness of the Russian language when it has reached an impasse.
I trust that the works of Vladimir Vysotsky will be translated into all the languages, and the world will take possession of the gotten heritage. In this publication, I present my translations of his poems and songs, and also of songs that were written by other authors, and performed by Vladimir Vysotsky. I consider these songs to be very important in order to understand what the poet wanted to tell us. Thus, the characters of the criminal song “I’ll awake in a morning...”[147] are two persons, who “have granted us freedom, and they’re loved by folks”, the criminal songs “Dear, such is the lot of the thieves...”[148] and “Taganka”[149] narrate about those who suffer for their faith, “A Soldier Song”[150] draws a living picture of war, “The World Is So Pitchy”[151] appeals to us to serve Allah, glory be to Him.
And how hard was the fate of Vladimir Vysotsky, may Allah be pleased with him. During his lifetime, he was the only Russian poet whose point of view was religious. His path never was easy, and no one understood him clearly. The heroic life of the poet was reflected in his poems and songs, and these are “The Tight Rope”[152], “A Song about the Poets”[153], the mentioned “My Black One”[47], “Thank Thee, O God, for Thy grace...”[50], “I stubbornly aspire to the bottom...”[51], “It’s my fate—to argue myself hoarse...”[83], “The Sea-Gull”[88], where he so clearly showed the mortal fatigue of the man, who fought alone for many years, and some others.
Vladimir Vysotsky was a Christian, but he was not religious man in common sense of this word—this poet was “the last gentleman of fortune”, as he wrote about himself in “Toward adventures the brig set sail...”[154]; and I do believe that he would agree to that which I said about his poetry. Islam was glorified by the great Russian poets and writers—Alexander Pushkin and Ivan Bunin, Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoyevsky—and Vladimir Vysotsky continued this tradition.
And maybe in the mentioned “Tumen Oil”[59], the poet wrote about the author of this publication, who was a seaman in the past. Here are the words I mean:

Here are the best, in the author’s opinion, dictionaries for those who learn it: “Dictionary of the Russian Academy”, “Dictionary of Church Slavonic and Russian” compiled by the Second Branch of the Imperial Academy of Sciences—Volume I, Volume II, Volume III and Volume IV, and “A Complete Church Slavonic Dictionary” compiled by Gregory Dyachenko.
And there is a thought that Allah, glory be to Him, talked with us through His messenger in the way that harmonizes with our mode of life—it is another interpretation of the fact that the diaries of Porphyry Ivanov, peace be upon him, are difficult to understand somewhere.
