Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. The Interrupted Flifht.

Today I’m calm because He told me everything...

Today I’m calm because He told me everything.
He charged me not to cover from Him anything.
And I’ll name names of those who maltreated me —
He Whom I serve will certainly rise to plead for me.
But I don’t know what He’ll do for it —
There may be even a stab under the rib,
Or, maybe, they’ll till death be all abroad,
Or they’ll be celled, deposed or dishonored...
When will it happen? I can’t tell you about —
O’er several months or years, or maybe now...
They’ll never pass their fate at any speed,
As well as round it or leak through it.
But as for me, I’m calm and it’ll be so
In case of any cursed way they’ll go.
