Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. The Interrupted Flifht.

Commentary to the poem “I stubbornly aspire to the bottom...”

This poem calls to mind Alexander Pushkin’s poem “To V. F. Raevsky” (mentioned in the commentary to “The Goner’s Song”).

This is one of the poems where Vladimir Vysotsky wrote about his mission. He concluded it with the words:

One man has passed — there’s no woe in,
But I will come once for your souls!

The poem was written in 1977.
