Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. A Ballad of Love.

The Glorification of Father.

Go you all to our banquet,
Show your reverence now!
As for you, newly marrieds —
Come to father and bow.

His look may be so bitter,
When he knits his eyebrows...
But you fall at his feet then,
To bring him back to calmness.

It’s not too heavy labor,
To give father a bow —
And his eyes won’t be spare,
He’ll assist you and love you.

So start your happy living
With the very deep bow,
And each day of your being
Show father great love you!
