Poems and Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. The Demon Drink.

Commentary to “A Song-Tale about the Djinni”.

The fifth stanza of this song is a poetic reflection of what is written in the Revelation to Saint John (chapter 11, verse 5): “And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed.”

The song was written in 1967.
