Commentary to the song “Give the starved dogs ends or bones...”

There is Vladimir Vysotsky’s poem “In Asia, or perhaps in Europe...”, which has much in com­mon with this song.

Because of the loss of faith in Gog and, as a result, fighting with Nature for im­prove­ment of conditions of this transitory life — what has spilled over into thoughtless de­stroy­ing the forests and poisoning the earth, water and air — man has gotten the spiritual emp­ti­ness, feeling the senseless of life.
